Five Blind Spots That Keep You From Seeing Your True Calling

I’ve dedicated the last ten years refining my true calling coaching process and it’s the most comprehensive and thorough career discovery process I’ve seen.

This process unveils who you are in startling, crystal clear detail. Most clients are able to leverage self-discovery to identify six or more true calling possibilities from which to choose. Yet for a few others, it’s not enough to simply know and understand who they are.

If you’re one of those folks I want you to know that there is nothing wrong with you. Realize that each of us processes inspirational information differently, so the same path of discovery, doesn’t work the same for everyone.

When you hit a wall you can either tunnel under it, climb over it, bust through it or walk around it. Sitting on the other side of the wall and moaning is ineffective. Just because a door of understanding opens for others, it doesn’t mean that it will for you.

We all suffer from experiential myopia. This creates a narrow-minded projection of our own personal experience, so that we believe the way that worked for us can work for all. This is especially dangerous for career coaches and authors who dispense true calling discovery advice.

We’ve been guilty of mindlessly spitting out oft-repeated, simple advice like. “Write down all the things you love to do.” Yet if you’ve been searching for your calling for years, without success, that suggestion makes you groan in despair. You’ve read it hundreds of times and tried to answer the question dozens of ways and still, you face the wall of not knowing your right career.

If you get this, maybe it’s time to consider the possibility of what you can’t see.

Some beliefs are so deeply lodged in our minds, that they become blind spots, blocking the opening to understanding. Just like the blind spot in a car mirror, you can be looking right at it and not see your calling because it just isn’t visible to you.

But if you’re willing to courageously consider the possibility of blind spots, by considering the root limiting belief, then you can inquire into it further. Inquiry may remove the block so you can climb over the wall and see your calling.

Warning! These beliefs may hit hard you hard, below the belt. You may not want to admit that something so simple has been blocking your vision. If you try one on and become defensive  – guaranteed there’s a personal truth there that you must investigate in order to be free.

1). Might you believe that a calling ought to reveal itself with certain attributes in a certain way? Perhaps you think that true callings are such a big deal, that if it were really your calling, it would come like a thunderbolt of clear profundity that rocks your soul. Not likely.

Perhaps our callings, the wisdom of our true natures, can only be hinted at, anyway – filtered through symbols, dreams, symptoms, happenstances, and synchronicities. Gregg Levoy

2). Might you believe that more time or more space will help you to figure out what you have not yet been able to figure out? My dear friend, please consider that it was your considerable ability to think that created the wall you face in the first place.

3). Might you believe that if you’d seen your true calling that you’d feel much more inspired, motivated or joyous than you do? This search for euphoric confirmation is most likely keeping you on the sidelines of true living. Like many of us you may not feel the delicious juice of deep satisfaction until after you engage your calling.

Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors where there were only walls. Joseph Campbell

Campbell didn’t tell us to first feel our bliss for the doors to open. For you to follow your bliss you’ve got to first walk down the hall to see what doors will open.

4). Might you believe that something is wrong with the world, your upbringing, the economy or the process or guidance you’re using? If you persist in believing that the issue slowing or blocking you, is outside of you – then you might as well give up and build a life on the unfulfilling side of the wall.

5). Might you believe that you can’t really play the game until you know for sure that your calling is the right game? Hope you see the unsolvable trap in this one. Truth is you can never confirm you’re in the right game by sitting on the sidelines.

If one of these hurt you, then you might have to admit the need to swallow a radical antidote.

You might just have to discover your calling the hard way. Why should that surprise you? You’ve spent years not discovering it the hard way. Hard or easy is so relative to your situation that it may not matter. You just want to find a way over the damn wall.

Here’s a major realization that I’ve recently had by being blessed with clients who had one or more of the above beliefs.

True calling discovery is not the most valuable process for some. Usually the decision to act on a calling comes after discovery but if discovery isn’t coming then decision must come first. Some have to decide first before they can discover their calling.

It may work for you to disintegrate your beliefs but if it doesn’t, please don’t wait to see your calling. If you take that path you may die with your music still in you.

So what can you do? You can work a comprehensive true calling decision-making process that forces you to identify and act on your best, educated true calling guess.

Then your hard way will ease up because courageous engagement creates clarity. But please don’t think you’ll figure it out. You can’t – it’s your mind that got you where you are and it will keep you there unless you jump over the wall with some radical new thinking.

I’d love to show you the way. Surprisingly making the decision first is often a shortcut to prosperity and fulfillment. First Comes … The Courage To Listen

iStock_000009645441XSmallWhat made you begin to listen to your still, small voice within?  Was it the pain of not doing so?  Most of us put off facing even the possibility of true calling for as long as we can stand it.

I think on some level we are aware of the pain and suffering we’re causing ourselves but the alternative of trusting life and the fear of what a calling might demand of us is even greater; so we continue to endure the pain.

I can tell you from first hand experience that following a calling does not make us immune to chaos.  Often things don’t work out the way as planned.  But the decision and ongoing commitment to honor an authentic path does pay off.  The courage to first listen and then accept what we hear is both necessary and deeply fulfilling.

We must be willing to get shaken up, to submit ourselves to the dark blossomings of chaos, in order to reap the blessings of growth.  Gregg Levoy

Recognition + Less Resistance = Increased Clarity of Calling

When you’re on the right track you can feel it.

When you are being more fearless than fearful you know it.

What you might not know is that you are enough. You are strong enough and talented enough to answer your call.   It’s yours and yours alone to be expressed in only the way that you could express it.

But it begins with trust, with trust and with powerful questions.

It will increase your trust and give you some powerful questions.

Face up to this dear reader.   There’s a good reason why you’re drawn to read about true callings.  You can sense the sacred invitation to follow your path.  It comes first as a whisper, then a nudge and eventually a violent shaking of your life.   You do have the courage to listen now.

It’s more fulfilling and magnificent to call on your boldness in the good company of those who also are committed to answering their call.   Take a small step forward and you’re life will be changed forever.

Don’t make it about the money.

Trust Your True Calling Gut Feeling

istock_000003792360xsmallHere’s a way for you to shorten the amount of time you spend before starting to work a true calling.   Like most good things in life making a bold, strong start is half the battle.

You have a pretty good idea of what your true calling probably is right now.

If you are not yet enjoying the fulfillment and prosperity of working a true calling maybe it’s time for you to simply trust your gut.  Gut feelings are a much more reliable source of guidance than anything found outside of you, including advice from experts.

So …how much more encouragement do you need to just do what you were meant to do?

If you don’t follow your gut, do you understand what causes you to mistrust your gut feelings?

Perhaps you are misinterpreting confused thoughts for your intuition.  One thing I know for sure, the more you trust yourself and your own inner guidance the stronger and more accurate it gets.

Doubting, over-analyzing and hesitating only add to your confusion.

This is the biggest detriment to working a true calling.  Hesitation.

Most hesitate far too long before getting started on work they were meant to do.  They spend too much time on discussing, researching, thinking and analyzing.  Too much time wasted on all the things short of action.

1). Accept that you are more ready than you think you are.

2). Accept that if your personal true calling idea wasn’t made for you, (meaning you have the complete capacity to pull it off) it would not have even come to you.

3). Invite your intuitive self to communicate your strongest and truest path.

4). Listen attentively and write down what comes to you. Then try it on for a couple of days.  See if any other guidance arises.

5). Ask the most powerful getting started question.  What could I do now to move this idea forward?

6). Do that thing and ask again from the improved perspective of one who has honored her or his true calling by acting on it.

The world is ready to conspire on your behalf but only if you listen to your gut feelings and act.  At which point of the above process did you hesitate? How can I help you to act more boldly today?  What idea have you been hesitating on that you know is meant for you?

The True Calling Connection

Unity - People putting hands togetherTrue callings are big, ballsy and boldly uplifting. True callings invite you to ride a wave of reconnection that simply doesn’t allow small thinking.

Yes I’m talking about reconnecting your original link between authenticity (expressed true calling) and abundance but I’m also referring to a second reconnection – the deep connection of authentic souls to one another.

I want to talk about that second reconnection today.   My big idea is to create and facilitate experiential events where we accelerate the probability of fully engaged participants reconnecting their original link between expressed authenticity (true calling) and abundance.  The first ever live Big Link Rally is scheduled for January 2, 2010 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.

This original reconnection will occur sooner for each individual by linking together and creating present moment systems of deep trust.  It’s the connection to one another that opens us up to more vibrant life possibilities and makes a true calling become more evident.   Systems in nature evolve toward symbiotic relationships.  You want examples? Just look at the plants/flowers/bees/birds/seeds cycle.

People systems built on trust and mutual intent also provide order, support and stability.  Within such systems information is freely shared and dreams are nurtured.  The openness and playfulness of the group encourages even deeper connection and even more intentional self-honor.

Do you see how this connection to one another was weakened while growing up?  Our natural trust for one another was instead replaced by the fears of cultural conditioning.  These fears severed our support for one another and in the process severed our link to natural prosperity.

Our blessing of individual uniqueness ought to be all the proof we need to understand that the traditional business game of conformity, scarcity and competition is a myth.  Of course its dog eat dog if everyone is trying to eat the same dog. That game is only played and never really won, by those who fear their individuality.

Choose uniqueness instead.   Choose to engage differences through revering individual true callings to create greater gain and abundant benefits for all.

I’m creating playgrounds of right livelihood because by seeing the significance in my brother’s calling I can more assuredly find the courage to follow my own.  By catching the spirit of my sister’s calling I’m lifted and inspired to follow through and answer my own.

This first Pittsburgh event on January 2, will recreate what might have been had we all developed without the fear.  Can you imagine the lift?  Can you consider the likelihood of discovering a brand new calling together with others who hold the same vision while co-creating in vibrant New Year energy?

By trusting one another deeply, we evolve more rapidly, as we might have naturally, if we had always lived within mutually supportive environments of highly aware, intelligent connection.

Passion is evoked when we connect to others, purpose to purpose.  Meg Wheatley

Yes we are all connected and we can all play a bigger game by recognizing how much we mean to one another.  You are deeply important to me.   I love your wildness because it encourages my own.  Please bring all of you out to play.

Do not apologize for your emerging magnificence.  Those around you will either feel this call of connection or it will fall on dead ears. What has life become if we can’t freely share our exaltations for fear of offending others? Screw that!  Be your wild ass self please!

I accept that it’s my calling to poke, provoke and upset your apple cart.   That’s the whole point.  If you want both deep fulfillment and piles of money you may need to pull a new cart.  We’re in this together and attracted by your courageous calling we’ll all offer you a boost until you gather your momentum.

I am in such a clear blue field of glory right now that I can only inspire. I could use your help with a little grounding. If you have questions about discovering or validating true calling, with group connection, please ask them below.

If you really get what I’m saying try this experiment. Go forth and spread the word. Feel your awaiting connection to others on this sacred path.  Your soul will be nurtured by the authentic expression and the emerging heart to heart connection.

Evan Hadkins was naturally inspired to invite his readers  along for the ride to hear about new developments first here: Join us.

Can you feel our connection? What are you willing to do about it now?

Awakening To Your True Calling

Beams of light pour through the treesWhat if the great depression had never happened?   What if industrial engineering and the dehumanization of workers had never occurred?  Imagine instead the influence of a great awakening to true calling that immersed all in expressed authenticity rather than fear.

How might your life have been different if your parents were raised during a great spiritual awakening? What if they were celebrated and encouraged to find their own authentic sweet spot in service to the world?

What if this great awakening had championed uniqueness and abundance in service to others? What if this great collective awakening honored authenticity, fulfillment and money?

How might your life have turned out differently were you raised in that sort of environment?  Would you have answered your true calling?

Well, it’s not too late.  It’s my desire to serve you as you reconnect your own link between your truest of callings, deep fulfillment and abundantly flowing streams of cash.

Cautious parents who hoarded out of fear and scarcity raised many of us.  But we are more in control of our destinies now than we ever have been. Together we can create a world where our uniqueness is championed.

Imagine the possibilities.  I’ve discovered a way to make this happen sooner.  The missing link is found within the power of connected intention.  We must connect through our callings while demolishing our me-centered, fearful walls.

The answer is to immerse your intentional being in an environment conducive to the discovery, validation and or evolvement of your true calling.   Right now I’m designing adventurous experiences of environmental support.   Soon these one-of-a-kind adventures will be available to you.

For a large part we are products of our environments that’s why we need to theme them authentically rather than fearfully.   Authenticity has something going for it that fear does not.

Authenticity empowers and emboldens.  Authentic callings carry the energy of right momentum.  Work in service to your calling and your environment carries you along with it.

Enroll here for announcements of true calling awakening events.

Please pause and imagine being awakened greatly.  Share where you are on discovering a or validating your truest of callings.

Give It Your All & Go For It

iStock_000007136260XSmallGiving it your all is more than investing courageous effort and determination.  Giving it your all means going for it with everything you’ve got.  You have many more resources, connections, energetic intentions and accumulated good than you imagine you do.

You’ll realize this (as some of you already have) once you hold nothing back and accept the sacred mission of acting on your true calling.  I admit I was once skeptical when I read stories of heavenly bliss.  How could anyone be that aligned and feel that good?  I now know that those authors must have reconnected their link between authenticity and abundance.

Each and every one of us arrived here as little balls of determined energy ready to soak it all up and go for our unique greatness.  But our caregivers’ reactions to life challenges and our false assumptions all combined to erode our original essence.  In order to enjoy a right livelihood of abundant fulfillment and financial prosperity we need to reconnect with our original, potent presence.

I’ve been called to deliver powerful experiences so you can feel the very real energy of reconnection.  If you’re just coming to this party read this about authentic reconnection and this for instruction on starting the process.

I intend to create dynamic, supportive environments for immersion into the energy, connection and state of our original uniqueness.

Trust happens in the experience of being accepted, respected and heard. Actual words matter less.  Julio Olalla

These experiences will inspire (those who are bold enough to fully play) to go for it and give it their all.   One concept and process that especially accelerated my progress is the active work of inviting Divine coalescence.

If you are ready to fully commit to this transformative work then listen to this guided mediation that will get you in sync with Divine Coalescence.

[podcast]http://www.delightfulwork.com/audios/coalesence.mp3[/podcast]

Reconnecting this authentic link is a group experience.   You’ll make it sooner if you offer a hand up and describe (by commenting) how you felt after the mediation to those who may think they can’t spare 10 minutes to invest in their bliss.

Ring The Authentic Bell And Win The Big Prize

iStock_000008180567XSmallConnecting the big link between authenticity and prosperity is a process of coming back to oneself.  My intention is to create environments where your reconnection to original magnificence will thrive.  I want to show you your way to ring your authentic bell so that you continue to hear its strong, clear call.

If you too want abundant fulfillment and financial prosperity from putting your purest self out there – I invite you to join me in the process.  These are the connection points that I’ve recently worked.  They cannot be skipped.  All transformation begins within.

Declaration

No more hiding. No more holding back. No more playing smaller than I could play.  No more going for second place dreams.  No more listening to my fears. I accept full authenticity and abundance regardless of form, expression or manifestation.  I declare myself to be an instrument in service to my original uniqueness.

Confession

The last time that I followed through all the way to completion, on a first place dream, was in 1992.  That dream ended in 1997 with a loss of worldly possessions and much of my self-regard.  I’d boldly chosen, come close but no cigar.

I missed the mark and lost a home, a marriage, all my money and temporarily, my peace of mind.  I’m now grateful for letting it all go.  I’m grateful for all of my wounds.  Now is the time to come boldly forth again.

My confession is that even though I’ve coached many to go for their gold, I’ve been playing it safe and just nipping around the edges of my next big thing.  I’ve been shying away from the hot stove of flat out, passionate desire because of that old burn.  No more.

Forgiveness

Entrepreneurship is a sacred exploration of trust.  Recently I asked for help from a dear, trusted friend and she wisely asked me to commit to a spiritual practice of forgiveness for a few days.

Perhaps you too need to forgive yourself for your many misses.  Perhaps you too need to clear out all the mental waste that is weighing you down before embarking on a new journey or special project.

I wasn’t fully hearted in some past limited attempts but I can see more clearly now.  I see now how I have previously misfired on many projects because I kept planting new seeds over old ground that wasn’t properly prepared for a new crop.  Those messy misses were a necessary part of my evolution.  Now I am doing the work of my bravest heart.

All authentic pursuits are good for us.  I want you to forgive yourself, if like me; you’ve taken some shots and fallen short.  All authentic pursuits (whether birthed to die within a day or even after a few hours in our minds) create a cumulative good that has strengthened your brave heart.  This is a key component of Divine Coalescence.

I fully forgive myself for all false starts, incompletion, errors in judgment, small thinking, inauthentic pursuits, embraced distractions, under-earning, excuse-making, self-created limitations and fearful behaviors.  By deep feeling absolution I’m now digging up and tossing aside all rocks and roots that have previously stunted my authentic growth.

Evolution is a gnarly, messy exploration into higher states of consciousness and then outward to increasingly bolder authentic expression.  But the journey begins within because that’s where your untarnished, purest vein of authentic desire and capacity resides.

Ring The Bell

I’m a big strong guy and I’ve always been able to swing the sledge and ring the carnival bell.  But sometimes it takes a more solid hit. Sometimes, at first, we fall short before striking gold.  Perhaps our strike wasn’t squarely on the mark or perhaps we just hadn’t focused enough weight and energy into our swing.

I like the carnival atmosphere and the playful kidding and laughter from onlookers when one comes very close but no cigar.  There’s something cathartic and primal about watching the striker rise, come close and slowly fall all the way back down to ground zero.  After near misses one must find the determination to re-gather energy, refocus aim, and re-adjust swing for the right amount of committed determination before taking another swing.

That’s where I now find myself.  I’m preparing solid ground for another swing to ring the big bell of authenticity.

Win The Big Prize

The big prize is total fulfillment, unlimited freedom, unbridled joy and lavish abundance, simply for fully expressing your authentic self.

Don’t you too want all that just for being who you are?  Deep in my bones, I know that’s our true original blessing.

That’s what I’d like to encourage for all of you who want to connect your authenticity with your prosperity.  I see too much struggle from folks who simply want to be real and be rich.  I see too much hesitation from folks who are still hiding their wildest, most beautiful essence.   I’ve encouraged you to come out and play before.

But now I’m determined to do something about it.  It’s my intention to connect this big and beautiful link.  I really have no choice, for this is my soul’s mission.  I can now feel the authentic lift and I’m riding it all the way, wherever it goes.

Stay tuned.  If you are so moved join me with a declaration of your own below.  I’m inviting you to reconnect your own link by working this sacred process.

What’s Next?

Only Future Tom knows that, but first he wants me to let go, clear fear and fully forgive myself before further details are revealed.  I’ve decided to be completely transparent as I call forth this rally of grand reconnection.

My pledge to you is that I will play no games.   I’d rather give it to you raw and unpolished then waste time on strategizing the perfect launch.  That’s not my style.   Can you handle my wildness?   Can you follow a leader who is only a half step ahead in his own pursuit?  I prefer to believe that if you want more money to come your way as a result of your most authentic expression then, you’ll join me if you feel it in your heart.

Although it helps, everything doesn’t have to be expertly marketed.  I’d rather err on the side of authentic full disclosure and trust that you are wise enough to know the real deal when you feel it.

I promise you this.  The connection experiences I deliver will always be one-of-a-kind originals.   Together we’ll go deep, connect and bring forth your sweetest, purest self.  We’ll ride the camaraderie of unconditional support and authentic validation all the way to the bank!

Since we are all connected, I trust that you’ll recognize the wisdom in offering a hand up to your fellows who also may have struggled in this pursuit.  I trust that you’ll look in your heart and email this post to whoever comes into your mind.

I know this for sure.  You can reconnect your big link and by working together we can all get their sooner.  Open your heart my friend.  Feel your warrior within standing tall and strong as you consider this sacred pursuit.

It will be a blast to watch something this big evolve.  But I want more for you than a ringside seat.  I want you to reconnect your own link between authenticity and abundance and become a player in life’s greatest game.

Get ready to ring your own bell by making a declaration, a confession and forgiving yourself.  It’s beautifully cleansing work.  Fear not, you’ll come out the other side stronger and more determined to be rich, fulfilled and wildly entertained, just by being you.

Why Rock The Boat?

Good question isn’t it? I was coaching a prospective client on the possibility of launching his own business, even though, much of what his job provides, serves him well.  iStock_000008056679XSmall

He asked, why rock the boat? Indeed why?

Most folks who have come as far as he has (actively considering self-employment) already know that it’s just a matter of when not if.  They know they will make their move.  But this big, messy question merits an answer.

It’s messy because many beliefs and cultural norms weigh heavy in the consideration.

I’ve actually had people tell me that they place the obligation of earning well for their children in front of their own happiness.  Those folks need to ask their kids.   Most kids would rather their parents be fulfilled than rich.

Putting loved ones first is only a belief.  There is not one right way to seek ones freedom.  There is only your way.

If you have to ask about rocking the boat, a part of you knows that it’s sinking anyway.  You are in charge of your security and well being.  Your employer is not.

“But I’ll make less money working for myself than working for another. ” That’s just a belief as well.  I’ve seen folks launch new businesses quickly and out earn their employment within 90 days.

Beliefs are nothing more than temporary limits on our achievement. Yet many potential entrepreneurs have believed the same life constricting thoughts for years.

Please don’t take anything the major media says as gospel.  They report for the timid, the cautious and the fearful.  They do not serve you.

Why rock the boat?  Why risk it?  Why change the status quo?

Because the status quo is killing you.

It’s really a matter of self-honor.

It’s a matter of honoring your uniqueness.

Have you ever deeply questioned why we are all so unique from one another?

Don’t you think there’s a good reason behind our creation of differentiation?

Each individual can put himself or herself in a position that better honors his or her uniqueness.

Yep, the best reason to rock the boat is to rock it by putting yourself in the right position.   A football coach would never put a 350 behemoth at wide receiver.  That player would be way out of position and he would struggle and under perform as a result.

Football is actually a much more authentic model for honoring uniqueness than traditional career beliefs and business in general.

The more naturally aggressive and disruptive players play defense.
The more orderly and coachable players play offense.

Position is determined by natural proclivities of speed, bulk, strength, disposition and leadership.  Raw talent is molded and mastered by first starting in the area most likely to produce success.

Are you playing the right position that’s ideally suited for your career or business?

Perhaps like many folks, you’re simply out of position for your work.  By nature some folks are far better off being obedient employees.

But if you’ve always questioned authority, if you’ve always sought independence and if you’ve always blazed your own trails – please do everyone a favor and seize your freedom now.

Don’t just rock that boat – blow that mother up and swim your ass off for the shores of freedom, fulfillment and prosperity.

If you want a masterful coach who will swim right alongside you, contact me for an exploratory, no obligation, and boat-rocking session now.

To Hell With What They Say

I’m a 270-pound, 59 year old, with two ankle fusions, who is in training to play one more game of rugby.  Often they ask, why subject yourself to the very thing that destroyed all the cartilage in your ankles?  istock_000003152335xsmall2

What they may never understand is that while playing rugby I feel most like myself.  Most of my deeply fulfilling flow experiences have come on the rugby pitch.

I wonder, what’s your one more rugby game?

There is something in every one of you that waits and listens for the sound of the genuine in yourself. It is the only true guide you will ever have. And if you cannot hear it, you will all of your life spend your days on the ends of strings that somebody else pulls.
Howard Thurman

There is great value in doing something organic to who you are.  There is great honor in deciding – screw them.  Be.  Stand tall in your own skin.

A life of engaged authenticity carries great benefits and rewards.   Somehow this choice of authentic bliss extends to other areas of our lives.

The demonstration of unique self-honor creates an attractive self-confidence that cannot be created in less genuine ways.  It’s that bona fide self-confidence that makes us feel competent to life, as though we really fit the game of life.

Somewhere in your life right now is a dream, a passion, a quest or simply an enjoyable pastime that you may have set aside because “they” said that you should.  To hell with them!  Be your own bad ass self and dust off your true desires.

True callings need no further explanation.  They don’t need to make sense to anyone.

Can you imagine how beautifully different our world would be if everybody said? “To hell with them, I’m going for it! ”

I talked to a right livelihood client this morning that is terrified of discovering a vocation that would require further schooling.   In my post Screw Going Back to School I talked about this myth that someone else knows better than you do, what’s really good for you.

Ideal careers and businesses are more often created than found.  Creators don’t need further education because creators credential and qualify themselves.

Sure, really going for it is scary as hell but there is a version of you deep within who does not want to settle in any aspect of your life.  That bold being wants to experience all the necessary bumps, disappointments and scrapes on the way to really living.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming  ‘WOW-What a Ride!'”
Robert Wickman

There may be a time for caution but from what I’ve seen, caution is only a self-constructed cage that delays courage and holds back the real freedom of living.

What is your one more rugby game?  Will you commit to playing it?

Clarity Empowers Progress

When we are crystal clear about where we are and where we want to be, we create less stress and more often hit targeted objectives. It’s darn hard to find our true calling when we aren’t willing to be clear and specific about how we want our life’s work to be.

Enhanced efficiency and effectiveness in the quest for authentic work is more prevalent when we are confidently clear about what we want. And I don’t mean being clear about being a butcher, a baker or a candlestick maker. Selecting an already existing profession can be the deadest of ends. I do mean being clear about how we want to feel in the enjoyment of our ideal work.

Don’t Tell Me What You Don’t Want

Most folks when asked what they want, will clearly answer with what they don’t want. They can tell you how unfair their boss is and how uninspiring the work is.

Or they’ll tell you a story about how hard it is to decide on what they really want. Or they’ll try to convince you that the time is not right to dedicate working on what they want. Some will even present a compelling case explaining why it’s not possible for them to get what they want.

Have you ever wondered why so many are so good at explaining all about what they don’t want?

Why do you think so many suck at just saying what it is that they want?
They already hate their job, how much worse could it possibly get?

You Can’t Get There From Here

The clarity of exactness and preciseness increases the probability of intentional manifestation. Maybe that’s what keeps many from choosing. A couple of participants on a recent group coaching call, supporting our community leveraging experiment, admitted as much.

When we definitely state what we want, in stark specificity, we have chosen, haven’t we? Perhaps that’s why folks choose to remain confused and general because you can’t really commit to a generality, can you?

Try dedicating yourself to excellence in vagueness. Yes you can develop the inspired confidence to move mountains but you’ve got to identify the damn mountains! If you don’t commit then you can’t fail but you can’t succeed either. Without clarity and inspired commitment your only choice is to remain safely frozen in whatever waiting hell you’ve created.

You Can Only Get There From Here

The clarity of exactness and preciseness increases the probability of intentional manifestation by creating a living laboratory for evolutionary learning. In succeeding or in failing we see greater openings for opportunity.

Safety is a myth. Certainly more of us are realizing that the only true economic and emotional security is found within self-created opportunities of self-employment. Calling your own shots includes controlling your own firing squad. It’s not pretty when someone else lines you up from dismissal.

What You Can Do Now

You can embrace this lesson and insert greater clarity, decisiveness and specificity into every aspect of your life. Practice being bold and confident; never again ask, “What are you having?” Order what you want in every aspect of life and you will have increased your probability of getting it.

Yes, clarity and specificity forces commitment and that’s a very good thing.
